I have ^F bound to search my zsh history (think ^F == Find).

bindkey ^f  history-incremental-search-backward

I'm also using vi key bindings, so I actually bind it via:

for keymap in v a; do
    bindkey -$keymap ^f  history-incremental-search-backward
done
