LgDb.com
LgDb.com is an exciting Web 2.0 application for state legislation and everything surrounding it. Users can search for bills, legislators, lobbyists, etc. Keeping track of what you want is done like all good Web 2.0 applications, tagging the data is easy, as is getting change notifications.
The site was built from the ground up starting in the Summer of 2006. The user interface was written using the Ruby on Rails framework, while the back-end data acquisition framework was written from scratch using pure Ruby.
It provides open access to all its data and basic features, while limiting professional level features to paying users. Annual user subscriptions are available at a reasonable price.
LgDb.com provides something for everyone. Whether you're a lobbyist trying to track legislation in multiple states, a journalist researching legislation, or a constituent wanting to see what your legislature is working on, LgDb.com is the place to go.
Update: January, 2008
LgDb.com is having legal problems with one of their investors, and as a result has gone offline.
